I was very fortunate to be one of the only two Y-PEERians that have been selected for participating Youth Leadership Training 3.0, which took place in Amman, Jordan between September 12 and September 15, 2016 and conducted by the Y-PEER International Centre for Youth Development of the National Centre for Heritage and Culture of King Hussein Foundation in partnership with UNFPA’s Arab States Regional Office (ASRO).
The training was a well-arranged assortment that made me enjoy and benefit from every single part of it. We were 24 young leaders who work on same the goal but in different circumstances, we share some challenges but have difference experiences shaped by the different socio-cultural and political spheres we happened to have in our countries, that has a lot to learn from each other.
The training was focused on three main areas: 1- Leadership 2-Media and Branding 3- Communication and Digital, and we were lucky enough to have very well known, professional and experienced facilitators from different continents; for instance, the leadership session facilitator was Professor John Antonakis, a professor of organizational behavior at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne and current Editor in Chief of The Leadership Quarterly.
I confirm that the training had improved my knowledge, experience and inspired me to last in this career. When I came back to my colleagues I had kicked off a meeting that I shared with my experience and the slides of topics that had been covered during the training.
